About

Peppermint Sewn Seeds is a runway show dedicated to showcasing the work of independent designers in the Rochester area. Conceived and organized by Tanvi Asher (founder and designer of Peppermint), the show will be more than a display of fashion. Sewn seeds will show the entire journey of the designers, documenting their processes from inspiration to finished garment.

Sewn seeds was the inaugural event at the Vignelli Center for Design in 2012, which is now an annual collaboration between the Rochester community and independent designers in the fashion field to showcase the process and talent in the community.

The individual work of the collaborators was coordinated by Ms. Asher, who strongly believes in the importance of conscious consumerism while supporting Rochester’s independent fashion scene, locally-owned boutiques and businesses, female entrepreneurs and creative endeavors of all kinds.

This years event continues the spirit of sewn seeds but goes a step further by showcasing what the designers have been working on for the past year and where it will be taking them. Tanvi will be showcasing her bridal line, Josean Vargas will be showcasing his formal wear line and for the first time we will be introduced to Katrina Elliott’s work who is a Rochester fashion designer.

Peppermint Sewn Seeds welcomes you to this unique experience.
